Social Action

Throughout the year, children and staff are encouraged to reflect on how we can live out our Catholic faith by helping others. Together, they suggest and take part in a range of charitable activities, including supporting local community initiatives and charities both at home and overseas. We also learn about issues that arise in the world and respond through prayer and positive action.

In keeping with Christ’s teaching to love our neighbour, St Mary’s supports a number of charities that serve those less fortunate than ourselves. Through these opportunities, our children are encouraged to develop compassion, generosity, and a strong sense of social responsibility rooted in Gospel values.

Representatives and speakers from our chosen charities visit St Mary’s to share their work with pupils and staff, helping them to understand the needs of others around the world. These assemblies inspire our school community to respond with faith in action by raising money or donating gifts that are urgently needed, showing God’s love through service to others.
